Material Innovation for High Speed Extrusion 3D-Printing

Material Innovation for High Speed Extrusion 3D-Printing

Essentium

Time: 50min (1x)
Presentation:
In this presentation, Essentium’s head of R&D for materials, Dr. Brandon Sweeney, will give an overview of the Essentium performance materials roadmap for high temperature, fiber filled, Electrostatic Discharge-safe (ESD), and flexible filaments. A brief overview of engineering-grade thermoplastics will be shared along with Essentium’s web-based tools for properly selecting materials for a given application. We will present several use cases for each material and how they are solving unmet needs in industry. Finally, we will show the benefits of using high performance materials in Essentium’s High Speed Extrusion (HSE) 3D printer, and some of the resulting material properties.

Presenter: Dr. Brandon Sweeney
Bio: Brandon Sweeney is the head of research and development and co-founder at Essentium
Inc. Brandon leads research and development into the ground-breaking materials Essentium
is creating to revolutionize industrial additive manufacturing. Brandon has also co-founded the company, TriFusion Devices, a company whose technology promises to finally produce 3D printed parts with mechanical properties that rival conventionally manufactured parts, setting the stage for a true 3D printing revolution in the orthotic and prosthetic (O&P) industry.
